Platform · Migration
Weeks, not months. And you keep what you have built.
The reason firms stay on a platform they have outgrown is rarely the software. It is the five years of configuration, definitions and reports encoded in it. Cerium migrates that rather than asking you to rebuild it.
What moves across.
Stated honestly, including what does not.
| Asset | Migrates | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Semantic model and metric definitions | Yes, automated | Mapped into Cerium's model with a reconciliation report you sign off |
| Dashboards and reports | Yes, automated | Layout is re-expressed in Cerium components; visual parity reviewed page by page |
| Permissions, roles and row-level rules | Yes, automated | Verified against your directory before cutover |
| Scheduled deliveries and subscriptions | Yes | Recipients and cadence preserved |
| Custom scripts and embedded SQL | Mostly | 80% can be converted to Cerium using our tools, 20% would be rewritten and tested by us |
| Third-party visual plug-ins | No | Replaced with Cerium equivalents or rebuilt |
The timeline.
A typical mid-size estate. Larger estates extend phase 3, not the whole plan.
- Week 1
Discovery and inventory
We connect to your existing platform and produce a full inventory: models, metrics, dashboards, users, permissions, and what is actually being used. Most firms find out here that a third of their reports have not been opened in a year.
- Week 2–3
Automated migration
Definitions, dashboards and permissions move across. You get a reconciliation report showing every metric matched, every difference explained.
- Week 4–5
Parallel run
Both platforms live. Same questions, both systems, numbers compared daily until the variance is zero.
- Week 6
Cutover and training
Switch, with the old platform kept available read-only for a defined period.
Nobody should have to throw away five years of configuration to get a better platform.
Send us a read-only connection and we will show you the inventory.
No commitment. You get the inventory report either way.
